Updates

Surgery Update-

So, the surgery was a success! It has been a little over a week since the surgery and I am recovering nicely. I'm still a bit tired, get headaches occasionally, and I think my stomacher is still waking up from the anesthesia, so it's been a little nauseous, but overall things are going very well. I also got some AWESOME bruises from the IVs and blood draws. When I had to go in to a lab to get some blood drawn after leaving the hospital, the phlebotomist looked really, really concerned by all the bruises and had a hard time finding a place to take blood from. I was at one of the best hospitals, so I don't think they did anything wrong, I must just bruise easily.

These pictures don't really do them justice, but I have those bruises on both arms in 3 different places.

Kyron Horman-

As most of you have probably heard about (at least in the US), a young boy disappeared from his elementary school in Oregon a couple weeks ago. He was last seen at Skyline Elementary School after touring the science fair with his step-mom. His step-mom last saw him walking back to his classroom in the morning, but he never made it to class and didn't show up when his step-mom was waiting for him at the bus stop. There have been major search efforts and a continuous investigation, but no luck so far.

Apparently the school district doesn't have the automatic call system to parents when their kids are marked absent, which seems crazy to me since I remember my parents getting those calls when I was home sick and that was 15 years ago. I really hope they can find him. It's so sad.

Surgery Tomorrow

Ahh! The time is here! I go in for transsphenoidal pituitary tumor surgery tomorrow (basically they go through your nose and remove the tumor from your pituitary gland). When I originally scheduled it, it was 5 weeks out, but now it's tomorrow! I'm a little nervous about it, but I'm excited as well. I just can't wait until Tuesday when surgery day is over and then I can't wait until Friday when I will for sure be back at home.

I'm going in... wish me luck!
