Random Tuesday Thoughts- Entry #5!

randomtuesday

-I had a French test today and I am a bit bummed because I don't think that it went as well as it could have. Darn French and English- why do you have to be so different!

-So, for my other class today, I find out that we need to watch The Matrix by Thursday. This would be just fine, if I actually owned that movie, but alas, I do not, so the hunt was on. I tried Netflix to see if they had it to watch instantly, but no, they only have the two sequels (which makes no sense at all). After this Netflix failure, I decided to try the library because I really didn't want to have to shell out money for this homework assignment, and what does the library have? The two sequels! What is the deal? Do they think people just skip over watching the first movie and go straight to number 2 and 3? Trust me, that movie is confusing enough when you see the first one, so I can't even imagine trying to catch up when you skip it. So, finally, I have to go to Blockbuster to get it, which I guess is alright considering I randomly got a gift card for there for Christmas, but I was still annoyed. But hey, I was just happy to find the damn thing when the lady at the register tells me it is $5.00! Since when is an old movie $5.00 to rent? I couldn't believe it so I even said "$5.00?" to make sure I heard her right, and she said "Yeah, they raised the prices." You can't even rent an older movie anymore without breaking the bank.

-I watched Dancing With the Stars from last night and I have to say, as annoying as I find Kate Gosselin, it is a little bit less entertaining without her on there. I swear that I don't get typically get enjoyment out of other peoples' failures, but she seems really mean, so I can admit that watching her dance was entertaining in a baby-attempting-to-take-it's-first-steps-type of way; it's hard to watch because you know they could end up falling, but it is funny and entertaining at the same time.

-Sickness is going around and I'm just hoping it stays away from me. The BF has it (and then keeps overdoing things so he's not getting better) and my mom is just getting over it (glad you are feeling better!). Plus, a whole bunch of people have been out from school because they are sick. There is too much going on for me to get sick, so I'm hoping it has moved on from my vacinity. Also, of course, I don't want anyone else to get sick, so let's just hope no one (in the ENTIRE WORLD) will get sick.

Now it is time to take on the rest of the week!

I Have the "Blahs"

My Mom always uses that phrase and I think it fits best for what I'm feeling today. I went to a wonderful volunteer event earlier, which was made more exciting by the presence of a cameraman that came to film my friend who is receiving an awesome award for being an incredible volunteer leader! She really deserves it and it makes me happy to see her getting recognition for all that she does, even if it means she has to suffer through awkward questions being asked of her on camera. :)

I need to get fully in gear for this school term. It's been hard to get on top of it so far with having two online classes and really not having much time to devote to figuring them both out any further than what needs to be done immediately. Hopefully I won't be running just to stay on track as much this week and can get things a little more organized.

Gotta Blog

I must keep up with my New Year's Resolution... but I keep forgetting to blog when I have time and only remember when I am running around crazy.

I finally got my school schedule all figured out after having a class that I need get canceled right before the term started. I'm getting used to doing two online classes and one class on campus and trying to figure out how to organize it all.

Resolution Update:

Working out 4 days a week for at least 30 minutes: My plan is to work out on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays (my least hectic days, usually) and so far I am on track! I worked out more than 30 minutes on both Monday and Wednesday and I have done one of two 15-minute work outs today. I plan to do the other one once I get back from work.

Blog three times a week: This is my second blog this week. One more before Monday and I am on target.

Log at least 50 hours of volunteer work in 2010: I have a volunteer event on Sunday and I am excited for it!

I will keep updating on how I am doing and I hope everyone else is doing well with their goals!

Must Blog Fast

I have to make this blog quick because I have an essay to finish for tomorrow. Actually, using the word "finish" is probably a bit deceptive considering that makes it sound like I have gotten a pretty good start on it, which I have not. An introduction paragraph is better than nothing though, right?

After reading a wonderfully uplifting blog over at Frugal Mom Knows Best, I felt like I just had to blog!

So, it's been cold here in Oregon. REALLY, really, super cold. I love Winter, so this is great for me, but I also would like some snow! How great would that be, right when the term is ending to get some time to just sit down with some hot cocoa, a great Christmas movie, and a warm blanket while the snow gently falls down outside? Ah... that sounds so great! Back to REALITY though where I need to finish up this paper on the role of children in Nineteenth century literature.

Soon I am going to post a picture of the baby blankets I've made for Christmas presents so far (I am very proud of my extremely limited sewing ability).

Hope everyone is having a great December so far!
